If something is done, equality should be maintained. Secularism is not something to be just written off and left. And what about atheists? Are they not allowed to be the part of a community or they should get forced to accept their boundness under the religion that they had left.

Shameless acts by police in response of a peaceful protest. As an AMU alumni and as an Aligarh resident, this hits too close to home. Prime minister and home minister seems to have decided to not listen to the plight of minorities. Hopefully this petition can be a knock on their deaf ears.

I am a Hindu and I am signing this petition. The Act defies everything that being an Indian stands for, most importantly being secular. India was not created on the basis of religion, Pakistan was. So it is important for us to realise that we Indians preach religious harmony. We Indians are above Hindu-Muslim-Christian-Jain. APJ Abdul Kalam was a Muslim. So stop this hate. We are Indians not Hindus and Muslims.
