The idea of banning the spider gene is a start of a slipery slip. In most cases the quality of life for ball pythons that carry the spider gene will allow them to florish. Any issues with venders and the quality of their snakes should be handled on a single case basis. Paint everyone with the same brush is irresponsible. This ban is not a road we as a community should travel cause it won't end at this gene or this snake. Beware is all I have to say.
Thank for giving me the opportunity to expresse my point of view.

I have a few snakes with the spider gene currently and a clutch from a Lesserbee due to pip within 20 days. Ive not had any genetic issues with my snakes, all are great eaters and growing wonderfully!

the morph is genetically faulty. why must you breed a morph that you know will pass on neurological issues....

are you kidding? why do you need to breed a morph that you know is genetically faulty???? head wobble is a genetic neurological issue that is a very common characteristic of the spider morph. it is a good thing they are banned

To ban a whole morph is ridiculous, these snakes did nothing wrong, if you want to force warnings with them fine but to fully ban them from a show? No way.

This gene and morphs that carry this gene should NOT be removed from shows. They are beautiful animals.

Not all spider gened snakes have neurological issues!! Do not ban spider gene morphs.. They are beautiful snakes and deserve to be admired like all the other morphs!

I don't think banning the gene will solve anything. Obviously remove any animals that are not fit to be sold but don't judge the gene as a whole

Although I agree the spider morph has neurological issues not all of them suffer a great deal. There Are many over bred and problem animals - you start with the spider gene where will it end? Even to the albino morphs and the dessert ghost morphs etc. Yes there needs to be control however to bare all spider morphs I think is a tad extreme.

The spider gene.
Yes it can cause awful neuro problems but a lot of them don't and are perfectly happy.
Maybe do inspections before sale?

I feel it is unjust to ban the Spider Morph. Does this mean any mix with Spider is banned? Caliders and Bumblees? People love them! They are beautiful animals and should not be judged for neurological issues that do NOT keep the snake from being healthy and thriving. What's next? Powerballs? Champagnes? They also have neurological issues. How about Super Cinnamons for duck bills and possible kinks? Or maybe Super Lessers for having bug eyes? This is a sad display of the IHS mind set. You look small and judgmental.
