ICFA Fairy-Tale Division

We the undersigned fully support the creation of a fairy- and folktale focused division for the International Conference on the Fantastic in the Arts. Fairy- and folktale focused papers are regularly presented at the conference in multiple divisions, and a division dedicated to them would allow for more streamlined scheduling of the papers with fewer conflicts, encourage more submissions on the fairy/folktale in fantasy, and provide an annual gathering place for fairy-tale scholars that would benefit the presenters and the conference alike. We are interested in attending a fairy- and folktale focused division should such a division be created.

A broader folklore and fairy tale division could catch a number of people. One way to get started is to propose a conference theme.
I probably would contiue to work with the science fiction division, but I support this initiative.

I fully support the creation of an ICFA Fairy-Tale Division and am convinced it would attract a great number of fairy-tale scholars and aficionados from around the globe, adding significantly to the international program of the conference.
