We, the union dues paying members of IBEW Local 97, urge our elected officers to come to a reasonable agreement with National Grid regarding the hybrid/work from home policy. We believe that hybrid work should remain in place and become part of the new way of union sanctioned work at National Grid.

The feedback from members has been loud and clear. We are currently organizing our next steps to ensure National Grid hears the same message.

We must adapt to a changing environment and one that propels us into the future instead of keeps us stagnant in the past. Remote working or a hybrid model keeps us competitive and attracts talent. We just proved to be productive working full time at home for two years. A hybrid model is a fair way forward and is progress. It also doesn't take away that we want and need a viable union.
Given the economic crisis in reference to fuel charges, day care charges and daycare shortage, it would be in both the employer and employees best interest to continue a hybrid model.
Hybrid Works
This union back in the early 2000's signed an agreement with the company to allow them full unlimited use of contractors. The union did this so all the senior members could retire with there pay group 24 pensions and not have to strike. They signed to agreement with the regard for the next (our) generation of brother and sister. Its about time this union did something for us
working from home allows me to get more work done, I can't see a reason for full time in office and the option for full time remote should be an option.
The hybrid model is a very productive way of doing business. Working from home has proven to be a very smart way of getting the job done without interruptions or causing individuals to have to drive into the office.

A hybrid schedule has proven beneficial for handling work load, reducing distractions, improving mental health, and helped improve access to necessary technology to perform my job.
