IBD For Long Term Illness

Pleas relieve the stresses of this please just do your research on this highly dibilitating disease

I am fighting for SS benefits because I am unable to work. I can't leave my house most days. I paid in all my life and the stress of fighting is making it worse. This needs to STOP!

It is so important that people with these conditions are looked after!

This is a chronic illness and should be treated as such

Yes it should be I have it years

My wife and eldest son both have Crohns. It is simply managing the condition not curing it so it has the potential for a lifetime of prescriptions for him to deal with.

High time this was sorted by our so called government!

Ulcerative colitis sufferer and not on a high income. The burden of finding over €100 extra month for medication was very stressful which didnt help my illness. Eventually things got so bad that I had to have surgery in 2009 to remove my large bowel. I now still have to pay the maximum €144 per month for my ostomy bags and supplies and this will be for life. How can this not be classed as a long term illness?

This would mean a lot to people like myself who have this debilitating illness. It would greatly limit the amount of stress we have to endure regarding the financial side of this disease. This list has not been updated in 42 years. Don't you think it's time it should be amended??? We do!!!!!

While I am one of the more fortunate people who can manage to afford the medication I am prescribed I have come in contact with others who are not so lucky and have to live with the symptoms of this often dibilitating disease every day. They deserve better.

These are horrible diseases and can often be dibilating

As a nurse I have seen the debilitating effected of Inflammatory Bowel Disease and believe from it's huge impact on sufferers' lives that it should be listed as a Long Term Illness

Have UC the last 15 yrs, husband the last 4 yrs, 8 yr old daughter Lucy the last 1.5 yrs. has not been an easy road, the cost of medication is dreadful expense put on family, we need this medical condition to be a long term illness.

This must be a recognized as a Long Term Illness, it's not going to disappear overnight.

If I passed 1 euro coins I would be a billionaire but I don't I've UC and I'm smashed each month !!!!! Any chance of a little help ???

I'm 20 Years old, I have ulcerative colitis and I'm on several medication, I'm on oral chemotherapy tablets as part of my treatment which are expensive in their own right, but for me to but my tablets every month it costs me over €200. I cannot afford this!! It's not right since we suffer from such a horrible condition that's LIFE LONG and we're ignored by the system! Not good enough

I have had Crohn's Disease since 1993, post surgery with permanent illieostomy since 2002; now on humira injection weekly to help keep me in remission, as have ongoing problems with fistula (not operable)

I have UC myself. And it is not right that it is not registered as a longterm illness!

Ridiculous that it is not long term... People suffer for years if not their lifetimes. Change it now!

The HSE should be ashamed!
