Final supporters
We, the members of the Westwood High School community (including its feeder schools), believe a critical first step to creating a less stressful, more enjoyable and more collaborative learning environment at Westwood High School is to change the rank in class policy. We acknowledge the legal need for rank in class, but the current system of giving numeric placement facilitates an environment where academic dishonesty and intellectual competition are rewarded, with diminished student and community well-being as unfortunate byproducts. We respectfully request that the administration and the District accept the recommendations made by I Am Not A Number so we can further foster transformational education at Westwood High School.

Academic pressure at westwood is honestly toxic. We need to focus on actually learning instead of just beating our friends for a higher rank.
I hope they listen. The competition between friends is getting out of hand and it creates a really bad vibe for everyone trying to just get through high school.
totally agree. move to a non-ranking system like so many other schools have already done. it just makes sense.
The stress in this school is actually insane. My kid comes home crying over grades every single day because of this system. It has to go.
