The dress code restrictions are extreme. Leggings and bralets under shirts should be allowed. By stating that what girls wear is "distracting" to boys, the school is promoting the wrong type of mentality.

This dress code makes it look like the school cares more about what we wear than our actual education. Making the assumption that what we wear is a distraction to guys is wrong and makes it seem like it is the girls' fault that they get assaulted for what they wear. This is very similar to how women get blamed that what they wore is the main cause of them getting raped. I asked many guys what they think and most if the responses were that they don't care what they wore unless it looked like they were wearing underwear. Always focusing on what the girls wear is sexual assault and makes us feel uncomfortable knowing older adults are looking at us in that way. Girls didn't choose to be born females nor have breasts so "sorry" that we have to wear bras.

I understand dress code is to maintain a degree of order, however the argument that an outfit can negatively affect peoples' educations is ridiculous. My body and my outfits are not to blame because somebody wasn't raised to respect that and doesn't have the capacity of looking away.

I will not tolerate another day of having to wear a jacket/sweater over my tank top in this hell-like weather (80-90) It is unhealthy and uncomfortable. The guys honestly dont care what we wear, a lot of them think its unfair what we girls have to go through.

The dress code for girls is extremely unfair and sexist. The dress code is designed to prevent distractions to male students in class. However, the responsibility of a female student is to learn, not worry about the mindset of a male student. The fact that society has allowed male students to force female students into strict dress code where we practically have to wear pants to school every day is extremely unfair. Rather than teach male students to respect female students and their bodies, females must endure detention and shaming for trying to be comfortable at school. Trying to learn in jeans while enduring 90+ degree SoCal weather is miserable. However, because I am 5'8" and the Granada dress code is so strict I am unable to find more than one or two dresses that conform to the dress code. If the dress code were enforced for all students, I would have less of a problem with it. However, the sexism and bias of the Granada dress code is unacceptable and must be changed.

I think that the dress code is a bit excuse me but stupid. I DO NOT come to school to look cute nor to impress people or my fellow peers. I come here to get an education and to learn to choose a path for the future. The fact that detention is given for dress code is a waste of our time. You are restricting us from learning and doing productive things. All because a little bra strap was showing or our shorts were less than an inch you keep us from learning and give us detention. I think the dress code is incredibly unfair. It is targeting girls more than guys because to be honest nobody wears chains or spikes anymore. This isn't the 1980s. In the summer or when it gets hot girls are still forced to cover up while boys get to wear muscle shirts that expose their entire chest. I want to be able to go to school and work comfortably with out have someone breathing down my neck to see if I'm dress coded or not! I want to be able to wake up in the morning and be able to wear what ever the heck i want to wear. The fact that I have to try on many different pieces my clothing to make sure i'm not going against dress code is emphatically time consuming. But lets be real here, if you're worried that someones going to come to school in a bikini or some boxers, that's not going to happen. We actually have common sense here. Ultimately, I strongly believe that this dress code situation is very unfair and odd considering the fact that adults are semi- spying on us to see if we are dress code. It needs to stop. I come here to learn and build my future. Not to impress anybody but my college.
