and

THE AIR LINE PILOTS

in the service of

UNITED AIRLINES, INC.

as represented by the

AIR LINE PILOTS ASSOCIATION, INTERNATIONAL

This letter shall serve as a Letter of Agreement addressing transition related issuesfor IE’s staffed at the Houston Flight Training Complex (“IAHPS”) prior to 6-24-2015, the date of announcement (“DOA”) to locate the consolidated Flight Operation training center at DENTK.

1. Notwithstanding Section 23-L-1 of the Agreement, legacy Continental Flight Instructors (FIAs) who hold Captain Status at date of signing of the Agreement (DOS) shall continue to receive ninety (90) hours per Bid Period at the hourly rate (or blended rate if applicable) for their best held in Status plus Override and they shall not be subject to the pay cap for Instructors in Section 23-L-1-b of the Agreement.

2. An I/E assigned to IAHPS on or prior to the DOA who chooses not to move to DENTK is entitled to the following commuter travel benefits:

  • I/Es traveling between their training location and primary residence shall receive On-Line positive space travel in accordance with Company business travel policy (NRPS). In lieu of On-Line positive space travel, I/Es may drive their own vehicles to training events. Mileage expense shall be reimbursed in accordance with the rate outlined in the Company expense policy.

b. I/Es traveling to operate assigned flying shall be issued PS0 (or its equivalent) travelauthorization to and from the origination point of the Trip.

c. I/Es traveling positive space may declare themselves “must ride” (i.e., bump revenuepassengers) if necessary to guarantee being present for a training Event. I/Es cannot declare themselves a “must ride” to return home. If unable to return home within the same calendar day, the following day shall become a work day and the I/E shall be provided lodging. “Must ride” may be declared on the last available flight that day to return to the Denver Flight Training Center from a remote training assignment.

d. I/Es shall be provided hotel lodging and per diem when conducting training assignments or assigned flying at locations in excess of 120 miles from their residences.

(1) The per diem rate shall be the same hourly rate as specified in the Agreement. This rate shall be considered all inclusive and paid in whole 24-hr increments beginning on the first scheduled work day in a bid period and for every scheduled work day in a bid month.

(2) I/Es may drive their own cars to training events where it is more convenient to drive than to fly. Mileage expense shall be reimbursed in accordance with the rate outlined in the Company expense policy.

23-K-2 When a DOA IAHPS IE is planning to perform any DENTK event prior to a flight assignment (other than deadheading) in the same duty period, the I/E’s scheduled dutyday may not exceed any applicable FAR or contractual duty limit.

The 787 and 737 fleet IE’s shall not be considered “surplussed” or new fleets or vacancies posted for purposes of Section 23-B Filling of vacancies. All currently staffed IE’s at IAHPS shall be considered in their incumbent positions from the DOA and not subject to displacement, closure status or surplus status. If staffing levels fall below those on the DOA then new vacancies within those fleets may be posted and filled according to Section 23.

23-D-3 No more than four (4) consecutive days of work, including reserve, shall be scheduled without the concurrence of a DOA IAHPS I/E.

23-G-3 A DOA IAHPS I/E on Reserve shall not be required to report to a Flight Training Center unless required for an assignment. Adequate notice must be provided by Scheduling to permit an IE to book on a flight or drive to the assignment as well as return to his home of record.

23-G-4 A DOA IAHPS I/E is released from Reserve for the remainder of the day if he has not received an assignment prior to 0700 local time, or if authorized by Flight Training Center Scheduling, whichever is earlier.

23-I TDY Assignments

The Company may not consider any IE staffed at IAHPS on the DOA on TDY at DENTK. TDY only applies to non-DENTK facilities.

23-N Paid Move

23-N-1 An IE is entitled to a paid move in accordance with Section 10 from his home of record to DENTK within 24 months of the last training event occurring at IAHPS.

23-N-1-b There is no freeze associated with the move.
