Xfm was the best station in the world. Why are they taking away something that was so great and turning it into another top 40 station. This absolutely makes no sense. I've been a loyal listener from the beginning. I am completely heartbroken Xfm will be gone. These morons will regret this idiotic decision! I don't understand why these bigwigs think they know better. It's absolutely ridiculous. I hope they regret this decision when radio x goes downhill and no one tunes in. Stupid dumbasses!!

XFM Manchester fan since it's launch - thought we'd celebrate 10 years together next year - sadly not.
How hard can it be to start a radio station in Manchester with #Tim&Jim and #Boonarmy?

Shocking that OFCOM have allowed this to happen. Global don't care about losing the listeners hip they just want the license to get access to the lowest common denominator.

I can't believe I won't be listening to Tim Cocker anymore on my way in to work and Clint Boon on my way home. These are the people who made the station so the great. Surely I am not the only person who is now thinking about looking elsewhere?

Truly imbecilic and badly thought out idea, killing off a well-respected and enjoyable station that championed regional bands as well as national ones and was instrumental in getting some pretty significant bands heard for the first time. A male-oriented radio station, are we in the 70s? Insulting and stupid!

The only reason I bought a DAB radio was to listen to XFM, a few months ago Global stopped DAB broadcasting of XFM in Yorkshire now they've brought the DAB back but turned XFM into a retirement home for self-obsessed has-beens with an idiotic rebranding. I can only assume some suits from Global watched Alan Partridge Alpha Papa & thought it was a training video on how to run a radio station. Hopefully the last record Clint plays will be 'Poor Misguided Fool' by Starsailor for his bosses

I've been an xfm listener since it began on a temporary licence. The latest plan to transform it into Radio X and go national on DAB is completely misguided. xfm filled a gap in the market and now it is about to unfill that gap by becoming Radio X, mimicking what Absolute is already doing. You're throwing the baby out with the bathwater by scrapping DJs like Ian Camfield, Sunta Templeton, Danielle Perry and Eddy Temple-Morris. We don't want Chris Moyles or Vernon Kay.

Please bring Xfm back!! This was the best station in the world, no other station compares to Xfm. This is a major mistake. Whoever made this decision is a complete moron. Radio X will be another top 40 station, playing crap music. I am so devastated. They will realize what a huge mistake they have made when no one tunes into radio x. Idiots!!!!

Not very rock'n'roll and indie of XFM. Becoming another mediocre sell out radio station. They need to have a serious look at the comments of their listeners and followers who surely wont stick around for X Radio. Dissappointed in Xfm.
