As a proud alum of this institution I remain steadfast in my condemnation of the institutional negligence of the #hottestcollegeinamerica and I decry the continued disinvestment in Black life across the university. Whether it is the abhorrent overall enrollment numbers of Black students, absent numbers of Black staff and faculty, erasure of impactful programs like Images of Color, or the literal murder of our families, this is unacceptable. I stand with #TheIrate8 and call for other #UCAlum especially Black alum to do the same in the demand for immediate financial, cultural, and political investment in initiatives that reinforce #blacklivesmatter .
