delete I support this bill to the fullest! Offenders do not serve enough time for domestic abuse. They are more likely to be repeat offenders than not. This MUST be taken more seriously to protect women and families in general.

I am president of the Iowa Organization for Victim Assistance and as such support this bill. When catch and release has clearly not worked we need to try something else such as longer sentences. This bill is in the best interests of potential victims and also helps the offenders by giving them more time to obtain treatment, mature, and find a way to live a more positive and rewarding life.

it would be good for this to be a federal law

This is such an important bill! As a social worker, working with a lot of domestic violence victims, I see the fear they have and the anxiety when their abuser gets out of jail or prison or doesn't even serve time. It is time for our justice system to provide justice. It is time for victims to feel safe again. This bill needs to be passed!

This bill is important to the safety of our community. I really think that those who aren't fighting for this bill think that offenders actually serve the sentences they are given. It only makes sense that offenders serve the sentences they are given. Please take action to keep citizens safe and approve this bill.

As a survivor of domestic violence at the hand of the same person multiple times, the individual needs to be held accountable for the actions done not only when it's done once but done repeatedly with harsher punishment.
