Stop the draining of retired military veterans who are leaving Vermont. They are reentering the workforce elsewhere and Vermont is losing them every day.

retired SMSGT, VTANG. I am for this legislation particularly since I retired in 2014 yet I cannot collect my retirement until 2031. The least our state could do is not tax me on it, after 22-1/2 of distinguished service.

I support this bill. As a lifelong Vermonter it pains me that I will consider moving based on the amount of taxes and fees we are charged every year. Either Vermont finds other ways to generate commercial tax income or Vermonters like myself will leave.

We have so many talented Vermonters who love Vermont but leave (or don’t come back) when they retire from the military because of what they will have to pay in taxes. Many of these people continue to work (often in high-paying jobs) while collecting their military benefits, and would still be contributing an income tax in that regard.

AND FREE MEDICAL,DENTAL, AND VISION FOR ALL MILITARY AND THEIR FAMILIES WHO RISKED THEIR LIVES OVERSEAS AT WAR FOR THEIR COUNTRY..

This tax is one more reason it’s so expensive to live in VT. Most military retirees are also on disability. Very sad. Please, fix it.
