It's a shame that Christians won't stand up to these people....It's our right as a Chrisitian to have these things.

Why do we always have to cave in to what one person fusses about. Prayer needs to be brought back in everything. I totally support the teacher.

Lamar County Board of Education should not have caved and this teacher should be praised for her efforts to enhance her student's lives.

The First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution states that “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.” As enshrined in the First Amendment, religious freedom includes two complementary protections: the right to religious belief and expression and a guarantee that the government neither prefers religion over non-religion nor favors particular faiths over others. These dual protections work hand in hand, allowing religious liberty to thrive and safeguarding both religion and government from the undue influences of the other.

No one is being forced to add their names to the requests, not even a specific religion is mentioned. We can't punish a wonderful teacher and the children for the intolerance and arrogance of someone. The challenging parents did not even approach the teacher to express their concern, she might have modified her board because of their worry.

The Federal Gov.nor anyone else has thr right to prevent freedom OF religion.there is no amendment for freedom FROM religion.No one is forced to participate and ....Separation of church and state simply means;
The church does not make laws,and the courts do not rule church law.The ridiculousness of our court system and the ignorance of some judges has gotten way out of control.

This is something prompted by the students. It is a shame that one person can ruin what the majority wants.
