MS public education must be FULLY funded FIRST. If the state wants to give vouchers or funds to charter schools then those funds need to come from somewhere else other than the MAEP. MS must stop causing our public schools to fail and be last in the nation. It is an embarrassment and the state is failing our children and robbing them of opportunities for success.

Our public schools deserve to be fully funded. We are fed up with 50th. My children go to a school where they do not even have enough text books for each student. That is ridiculous. Our schools need money to better educate our children.

The idea of legislation to NOT fund schools, disallow freedom of speech and assembly makes me think this State's leaders do not care for its citizens and their children or the liberties our country was founded on. STOP wasting our taxpayer dollars with debating nonsense legislation and Fund our schools! Educators unite!

For the common good, please fund our public schools at a rate to ensure their success. Please don't move funding to private and charter schools.

Fully supporting public education is one of the primary ways in which we give the poor a leg up in today's economy, preventing the chasm between rich and poor from growing larger. The market does not solve all societal problems.

Support our schools with OUR tax dollars. Sending public funds to private schools with no accountability is VERY WRONG!!

I'm a registered voter in Meridian, MS, working with others to improve the quality of life for people living in MS, especially children, and to increase Mississippi's capacity to succeed. Since our state is always at or near the top of every poverty chart and since education is the way out of poverty AND since over 90% of our state's children attend public schools, full funding of our traditional, public schools is paramount. Without that, our chances of improving in ANY area are nil. Therefore, we need full funding of our public schools. We do NOT need anything that will funnel funding away from our public schools, such as charter schools (which are separate, but unequal AND ineffective) and we don't need vouchers.

As the parents of 3 children in the Ocean Springs school district, business and property owners, We expect our legislators to fully fund public school with our hard earned tax dollars! No to vouchers and no to silencing teachers and administrators who speak out on behalf of our children!
