I'm Jewish, I've heard his prayer. It's ALL inclusive, it's NOT mandatory and it's done with respect and honor! My son played against this coaches team and I had no problem with my son being a part of his circle. Again, it's all inclusive and done with the utmost respect and sportsman like conduct. I think the bureaucrats need to find another tree to bark up. Leave this awesome coach and retired Marine the hell alone. The fight WON"T end with him. PROMISE.

Coach Kennedy's post game gathering and prayer occurred for many years prior to this season, meaning many season came and went without incident. So why now? My son played for an opposing school (2007, 2008 and 2009 seasons) and I have pictures of him gathering with BHS and Coach Kennedy at the conclusion of the game. What bothers me most about this situation is that society lifts up professional athletes who participate in post game prayers yet discourages our youth from the same activity. While I firmly believe in separation of church and state, I also believe in the right of individual to express their religious beliefs. Just because an individual is a public sector employee such as a coach or educator should not mean they have to hide away to express their religious beliefs, as long as it does not hinder said employee's job performance.

The freedom is exercise our religious beliefs is a right given us in the Bill of Rights: The First Amendment guarantees freedoms concerning religion, expression, assembly, and the right to petition. It forbids Congress from both promoting one religion over others and also restricting an individual’s religious practices. It guarantees freedom of expression by prohibiting Congress from restricting the press or the rights of individuals to speak freely. It also guarantees the right of citizens to assemble peaceably and to petition their government.

Employment by a government paid agency does NOT negate Constitutional rights. Prayer does NOT create a law governing an establishment of religion. Denying it DOES prohibiting the free exercise thereof.

The Bible and prayers were very much a part of our public schools for over 200 years, until the 1960's when communism and atheism started infiltrating our public schools. Children were originally taught to read out of the Bible in public schools. They learned their alphabet with rhymes that also taught Moral values and Biblical truths. We are Still "One Nation Under God" at least for now. Christians need to stand up, and speak up for what they believe.

I doubt the school would have done this to a non-Christian. The school board members are full of partiality and double standards.

I am 100 % behind coach Joe. Taking away the freedom to express his faith is not consistent with the constitution that provides freedom for all American citizens.
