I Support Business on Baronne
The city is considering removing one of the two vehicle lanes on Baronne St. in the CBD and Warehouse District. Doing so would cause more traffic jams for commuters and make it harder for customers of all types to visit the businesses and hotels along Baronne from Canal to Calliope.
By signing this petition, you agree that the city should take more time to consider all possibilities for managing pedestrian, cycling and vehicular traffic on Baronne St., especially options that would allow for two lanes of traffic AND a bike lane.
Next Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at 6 pm, the city Department of Public Works will host a community meeting at the Contemporary Arts Center (900 Camp St.) to discuss this controversial idea. Show up and speak up for keeping business going on Baronne St.
If you can't make it to the meeting, you can also make your voice heard by contacting the Department of Public Works at 658-8001 or expressing your concerns to the Chair of the City Council’s Public Works Committee, Councilmember Nadine Ramsey at 658-1030; districtc@nola.gov, Warehouse District/CBD Councilmember Latoya Cantrell at 658-1020;lcantrell@nola.gov or Councilmembers-at-Large Jason Williams at 658-1070; jasonwilliams@nola.gov, and Stacy Head at 658-1060; shead@nola.gov.
