I support a "Traditional" School Calendar in District 225 that doesn't start school earlier in the summer.

This is a horrible change for our community. Kids go to camp, weather changes and no time for kids to study! This especially Does not make sense for our younger children!!!

Please don't change the calendar! High school should start at the same time as other schools in the district! We have other children in the district in elementary and middle school and August is time for family vacations!

Way too early to start school. These kids aren’t in college.

There is no compelling need for a change like this

I have 1 child that just joined the Glenview public school system. and 2 more that will get there over the next 2 years. How much earlier would even fall activities start like band & sports?Don't change the calendar! School should start after Labor Day and let out after Memorial Day. August is the best month of the year to celebrate summer and be a family.

I have three children who will attend GBS, and I much prefer a traditional school year

District 225's start of the school year should be aligned with District 34 and the other districts that feed into District 225

While change can be a positive thing, even I who will not have a child affected by this, am not in favor. I believe in starting school after Labor Day!

Keep the calendar the same or, even better, start the day after Labor day.

Please prioritize synching 225 calendar with feeder school districts, not colleges!

I am in favor of starting after Labor Day. Shifting the calendar negatively impacts spring and fall sports and puts undue stress on kids completing finals before break. Not to mention going back to school in the heat of August. I have not seen many comments about how it impacts families with children in both 225 and other Northbrook elemntary districts. Why would we want to be on completely different calendars? More community input and impact study needs to occur before making this change.

Please consider starting school after Labor Day. Finals in February give teachers and students ample time to review and prepare after returning from Winter Break. Thank you!

I'm very opposed to this idea. These kids have enough pressure today, don't take away part of their summer - this is a terrible idea.

Please don't change to the Collegiate schedule. My child needs time to rejuvenate over break in order to be ready for finals. And having Martin Luther King Day right before also helps. This also gives a little more time for the teachers to review before finals. The people who are in sports or other activities would have to start very early in the summer to prepare for their fall activities. Also in December there are a lot of concerts and holiday festivities for the community that the kids do at school. They would have to be taking finals and be in shows all at the same time.
