I support a "Traditional" School Calendar in District 225 that doesn't start school earlier in the summer.

I have four boys and they need a break from school. This would not be enough time allotted and need this time to regroup. Also, It pretty obvious we live in Chicago and summer does not start till mid June and don't we want to have our kids enjoy the outdoors? I say NO to an early start of school.

Please don't take away our family time in the month of August. With a parent that is a teacher in another community, this will make it more difficult to spend time together when schedules don't match. We worked long and hard to purchase a cabin in Wisconsin to be closer to my family. This will decrease the time we can spend there in one of the most beautiful months of the year. The negative impact far outweighs the benefit! "If it aint broke, don't fix it!"

All information on this topic needs to be clearly explained and discussed involving all parties that it affects before changes are made. Voting results should be published as well so all can see the tallies publicly.

This an unnecessary change. I had no problem when I went to GBN with the current calendar. Kids need to overcome a little adversity. It builds character.

I believe this is something that can easily be tabled to allow the new superintendent to weigh in on and feel strongly that not enough parent and teacher involvement and education about the implications about this policy change have been completed to conduct a vote at this time
