  • Stillwater is a skateboarding town.

The unique landscape of Stillwater has produced and inspired pro skaters like Nicole Hause, Clint Peterson and nationally recognized skateboarding filmmaker Dana Ross.

Skateboarding culture is a multifaceted, positive attribute to our town, deserving of a permanent skatepark. Pro skater Nicole Hause (when she created the Stillwater Skatepark Project Facebook group) ignited a bold vision for a permanent skatepark in Stillwater, and this vision has been endorsed by city leadership.

The 2022 Stillwater Lumberjack Days organizers seek to contribute additional momentum to this local movement, via a skate ramp during Lumberjack Days July 15-17. This skate ramp will feature pro skater demos, new skater training sessions, and a memorial/tribute to a much loved, Stillwater skater named Gordon Brewster Bartel who passed away October 6th, 2021.

By signing this petition, you are supporting:

A permanent, downtown Stillwater skatepark project. Publicly visible skateparks succeed and thrive, whereas skateparks relegated to the city sideline areas flounder. This petition "aims for the stars", with a downtown-Stillwater-skatepark that will thrive into the future!
