Would be great to have a GYM for climbing in Jackson. If there is ever a time more area makes sense is now. It’s not like we have been keeping a distance of 6 feet for the past months.

Jackson is a climbing town and I am frequently blown away that we do not have a climbing gym. I am very excited this is set to change, but I believe if we’re going to do something, let’s do it right. If the gym is too small to adequately serve the community, what did we accomplish?

The climbing gym is an incredibly important resource for our community and also an incredible effort and use of resources. If we are going to do this we have to do it right so it is able to serve the purpose and community it is intended to- to do so otherwise would be a waste of time, resources, space and energy.

Please make climbing gym bigger and better than all the rest..If we don’t do it right the first time then it could backfire. Please just do it! This is Jackson Hole. This is our town! And it’s the best!

Our community is in need of a climbing gym! I think the town can make a lot of money on it and the larger the gym the more money you will make!

Climbing is not only important for physical reasons but it also provides a phenomenal opportunity for community building, leadership and self esteem building in kids, confidence for young girls (an arena where strength may be different defined), and a connection to the Teton’s rich outdoor history. It also aligns with goals of Teton County SAR and others in reducing backcountry incidences as gyms are a fantastic place to hone the team, communication, self awareness skills, and technical skills all of who can can help create a culture of safety.
