I am a retired professor from University of Michigan Medical School and I don't want anyone to say, a thousand years from now, that I did not see the injustices of the settlements, the occupation, and the lack of a palestinian state.

I believe in free speech and the free flow of ideas. international Hillel should not censor any HiLLel campus group for educating themselves & the public about crucial issues regarding Israel and the Middle East.

I was very fortunate, as a student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison many years ago, to hear representatives of Yesh G'vul (There is Limit) -- Israeli reservists who refused to serve in the Occupied Territories. I'm proud to say they were hosted by the campus Hillel. I salute the Swarthmore students who are taking a principled stand in favor of dialogue around issues that are of absolutely critical importance to all of us.

I fully support the Open Hillel movement as a means to open debate and foster dialogue on the future of Israel and Palestine. This is a necessary step towards peaceful, mutual resolution of that conflict.

As a student affiliate of Harvard Hillel in the 90s, I found that the organization's willingness to support groups with different opinions led to a stronger, more engaged Jewish community on campus. I'm really sorry that Hillel International has changed its policies in ways that seem to divide the Jewish community on campus and undermine Jewish values of discussion and debate. I believe that Israel can only benefit from an informed and thoughtful American Jewish community.

Absolutely! I saw the article in the NYT, and I am so happy you are taking this stand. Disagreeing with politics does not mean you do not believe in Israel's right as a Jewish state. As Jews, we are encouraged to question but the powers that be have decided that only certain things can be questioned. Shame on them!

This is an important discussion to be having. Its not fair for a religion that prides itself on questioning and critical thinking to force out any who don't agree on a certain political stance.
