Yes it should be taught in school

We can't stop fact based teaching because parents don't like facts.

Seems to me that the program this school is working with is wonderful... it supports inclusivity and tolerance, irrespective of age, gender, race and ability. Thanks for starting this petition; if people like me stay silent, there's a real risk that the views of a minority of vocal protestors and activists groups could crush great work by talented and inspirational teachers. This is really important stuff.

I live in Birmingham I embrace the multiculture of this city I don’t think it is unreasonable to expect that LGBTQ is also embraced as part of our society not to be shunned as if it is something to be ashamed of I thought we had left bigotry behind us years ago.

Although I'm in Australia this petition deserves the Support. To be inclusive of all irregardless of ANY difference whatsoever is the real scandal here. It's 2019, prejudices are taught and if every other generation up from the current birth to school leaving age generation stood back and watched for a change, you will actually learn something. This current generation is the most inclusive, intelligent and worldy ever. They actually need protection from the rest of us and many of our preconceived and downright ill-conceived beliefs and prejudices. My proudest moment was when my daughter told me she met the man of her dreams aged 21 and my son told me he met the man of his dreams aged 17.

It is reasonable to respect religious beliefs, but they must not stand in the way of equality. No one should feel afraid to be who they are.

Each one of us can have a positive impact, but only if we make a stand for our children, grandchildren & so forth, please do not let apathy win.

Although I don't live anywhere near this area, nor even in the UK, I think it's important that the folks of Birmingham realize that the entire world is watching. Bigotry, homophobia, and hate have no place in our world.

LGBTQ+ lessons should have been made mandatory years ago as LGBTQ+ is part of everyday life and lessons such as that can help reduce hate crimes across the country.

This is my city and ashamed they stopped teaching LGBT rights because of religion. We are all human. Why can they teach about straight people with no problems but teaching about LGBT causes problems?

Absolutely support it. We must tech our children diversity & equality.

Religious fundamentalist extremists should not be setting the agenda for equality and inclusivity in our schools.
