A wonderful collection of art featuring Great Minds is a wonderful display at the Trumbull Library, especially the large banner that shows women who have influenced the world. To have this removed has caused a controvervsey regarding censorship regardless of excuses being offered by the administration. The opinion of a few people should not influence what is a vailable for public viewing. This is an important lesson for the young people of Trumbull.

Though I am not a resident of Trumbull I think any US citizen should be concerned by such outrageous behavior. The Catholic church and the local priest are certainly entitled to their own opinion regarding this work of art but they should not be allowed to impose their ideas, opinions or values on the rest of the public. Any claim of concern over copyright are bogus and totally unfounded and far outweighed by the disregard to first amendment rights and the separation of church and state.

It is crucial to support Sue Horton not only because she is an outstanding Library Director but also because she is being used as a scapegoat by First Selectman Herbst for an unfortunate situation that he created. The purpose of the Great Minds exhibit is to inform and educate, to open people's minds, especially students, to the power of individuals to make a difference in our world. Ms. Horton and the Board were eager to hang the exhibit because they because they believed that it would be good for the town.

The Truth of goodness will be revealed. Sue Horton holds high integrity and is a bright shining example of positive dynamic leadership. Trumbull is a better community with Sue being our Library Director.
