To: All the News Media outlets and social media influencers,

We, the undersigned, are writing to express our deep concern over the recent broadcast of videos on your platform that have hurt the sentiments of the Tibetan and Buddhist community at large. We understand that the media has the responsibility to report news and share information with the public, but it should not do so at the cost of hurting the religious sentiments of any community. Unfortunately, the recent tailored videos of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama encountering innocent devotees aired on your platform have done exactly that by portraying our spiritual leader and Buddhism in a negative light. As you are aware, Buddhism is a peaceful and compassionate religion that has been followed by millions of people around the world for thousands of years. However, the videos that have been broadcasted on your platform have portrayed the religion in a negative light and have hurt the sentiments of many of its followers. We request all respective media outlets and social media influencers to take immediate action and remove all videos that have been tailored to hurt the sentiments of the Tibetans and Buddhist community around the world. We urge you to exercise restraint and sensitivity while reporting news related to religion and to ensure that no community is subjected to such treatment in the future. We believe that freedom of the press is important, but it should not be exercised at the cost of hurting religious sentiments. We hope that all of you will take our concerns seriously and take prompt action to address them. Thank you for your attention to this important matter.
