I can't imagine a justifiable reason why a male student or faculty member needs to expose himself to my daughters

As a grandfather who has children attending Nova Classical Academy I oppose mixed sex use of bathrooms. As a counselor and facilitator of people with emotional hurts, hank ups and habits I can say that this is detrimental to normal development of children.

I support the option for child who may require the use of a private bathroom situation. However, as someone who has worked with victims of sexual abuse, I find the idea of mixed gender bathrooms harmful and frightening for any child who may have suffered or been exposed to sexual trauma.

Simply due to safety reasons, and for the potential of young boys exploiting this for less than honest reasons, I vehemently oppose the desegregation of the locker rooms.

Please protect kids from having to use bathrooms with kids of the opposite biological gender. We have three kids at Nova (and two more in preschool) and our girls have expressed their discomfort with this possibility.

I have two grandchildren at Nova, and I object to this policy being imposed on them. I feel sorry for the child who is so confused but it is not fair to make the whole school have to deal with this issue as if it is perfectly normal behavior to switch genders. Some kids may be traumatized by having something so strange and unfamiliar happening around them.

We currently have two children at Nova, one more will be going in the future and another one has graduated from Nova. This is a privacy issue. I would like genetic boys in the boys facilities and genetic girls in the girls facilities. My daughter is concerned about boys in the bathroom with her. It is difficult enough to have your period in middle school, much less to have boys in the stall next to you listening to you take care of your business. The locker room is even a larger concern since there are not stalls in the locker room. My daughter would like her privacy and does not want to have boys looking at her while she is dressing. Safety is another concern. If any boy can walk into the locker room I am concerned about about sexual harassment and sexual abuse. I support having one 'family bathroom' in the building. My youngest still needs assistance in the bathroom and that would make it much easier for those instances.

I have one child at Nova and would request that you have children use the lavatory based on what their gender actually is and not what gender they feel like. Why confuse them even more.

I read the SPPS policy 500.00 and find it astoundingly confusing. It surely turns all the children topsy-turvy in regard to gender.
DNA is determines if someone is a boy or a girl. It happens to be very straight-forward and simple. A son is a boy. A daughter is a girl. Our job is to help them be what they are, not confuse them.

3 grandkids attending Nova. 1 granddaughter waiting to get in next year. Mixed gender bathrooms and rocker rooms at grade school and high school is totally unsafe. Teenaged boys in the same bathroom as little girls? It is insane!
