In case it isn't obvious - there are physical differences between boys and girls - there should be no argument or discussion. Keep the bathroom separation based on that and you have no problem.

I wouldn't even consider Nova as an option if the decision is made to allow for this.

I certainly would not like to use a bathroom or locker room with a male so why would I ask my children to do so? I think there will be a lot of medical issues from children "holding it in" when trying to wait until they get home to use the restroom.

As a former Nova parent and Nova board member, I am appalled that this is even being discussed. I urge you, the administration and board, to act on behalf of the entire Nova community, not one or a handful of families. If you cave to the demands of this one family and do not find a suitable compromise for both sides, you will likely find yourselves in the middle of a 2nd lawsuit in just 3 years.

Morally wrong. My tradition and culture doesn't allow this.

Shared sex bathrooms are a safety and comfort issue.

I am opposed to mixed sex bathrooms and locker rooms in public schools. Whatever the advertised goal, I can only imagine the negative impact through increased peer pressure, teasing, and even abuse (physical, verbal, and digital) in these locations. I remember gender mixed changing spaces before labs in medical school. Even with that population and stage of maturity, it created difficulty and stress for many students. How much greater would that impact become for socially vulnerable children and teens?

Our family moved away from the Twin Cities this year for a new job. Our 4 children all attended Nova last year. We're so sad that this issue is threatening a lovely school. Our family feels unisex bathrooms and locker rooms would be a grave mistake.

As godmother of a Nova graduate, I have--perhaps in error, it now seems--encouraged parents to consider Nova. What tragic irresponsibility to use children in order to advance a political agenda!

Nova has come a long way from the beginning till today. My daughter was one of the students who entered Nova at its starting year. It's sad to see the liberal thinking of the society has affected the school that I believe has set high standards in academic as well as virtues. I absolutely oppose the mixed sex use of bathrooms and locker rooms at Nova Classical Academy!

So one gender confused child trumps the right to privacy for every girl at Nova? Parent to 1 Nova graduate and another former Nova student. We passed on enrollment for two other children this year and I it seems we made a good decision. Madness.
