- Mayor Tim Keller has recently added the Crowne Plaza Hotel to a list of potential sites for for an emergency homeless shelter. Not only is it $2 million over approved budget, it will be a costly location to upkeep. Plus it will cause hardships for the local businesses in this area. The businesses will be devastated by increased pan handling, vandalism and theft. Help us tell our city leadership that this is NOT the spot for a homeless shelter!

Regardless of the location I believe use of a hotel is an inappropriate option for a homeless shelter. It would be impossible to ensure security and be inordinately expensive to maintain.
This is the wrong place, wrong price and wrong building for the funds approved by voters. A smaller more modern facility built closer other homeless support places is a better idea. I hope you agree.
This is not the solution Albuquerque is looking for. This will further hurt an already crime ridden area, as well as taxpayers by going 2 million over budget.
There is to much going on in this area as a business owner I have been robbed 2 times in past 3 weeks and have had to clean up human waste many times on my property this will make the situation here only worse and will force the sale and closures of my business also why would abq city give up gross tax from this busy hotel more money lost in long term
We already have an out of control homeless population in this area. We do not want the shelter to bring more crime and scare people away from supporting mom & pop businesses in the area. Please consider another location!
This is the worst location to put a shelter! Its dead center in our city and this will drive away our tourist annually profits. This facility needs to be build far out in the south valley or rio rancho and away from businesses
Please stop trying to cover up the problem and fix it.

I am against this. If you put them in this hotel, yes they will have a place to sleep and take a shower. What about eating, cleaning there cloths. who is going to fix a clogged toilet shower, Who is going to do repairs after water damage. Who is going to hold them accountable for the well being of the structure. Think about it. Not a good idea at all!!!!!
