It's the privatization of our electrical system that is killing our productivity.
The proposed private power plant in Bala is an example of the Ontario Liberals robbing Public Peter to pay Private Paul.
Destroy a public park with 600 feet of Muskoka waterfront so that a fat cat Toronto developer can cash in on his connections at Queen's Park and build a Drowning Machine to generate greenbacks! Public Safety be damned.

I can’t believe that Hydro One has even considered a rate increase request. I suppose some government official recommended they apply in order to justify in the persuasion of recent decreases.
I think this request is an unfair "spit in the face" act toward all customers and the government. Millions of dollars were gained by Hydro One in the last few years. Dollar amounts paid out that were astronomical with no end in sight. Finally, when the people are heard, a request to increase fees immediately follows.
First, delivery – This totally baffles me. I don’t understand how it is even considered legal. The new normal was unheard of until recent years. This creative way to drain and control people of this province would never be legal if a private business owner tried it first – especially if he/she made as much money as Hydro One has.
Second - Retired folk who planned for cost increases during their retirement and/or fixed income families with children are seeing exponential increases that are far from manageable.
Third - The impact on Ontario will be devastating over time. Nobody seems to care about long term impact. Businesses will eventually avoid doing business in Ontario and existing Ontario businesses will fold - Employees will be without jobs. Government sectors (i.e. hospitals, medical centers, public arenas) are going to have to close. Taxes can only go up so high. If this increase is approved, it will contribute to Ontario’s slow unmanageable death.
You should know that I am seeing this from a rural Ontario perspective. Costs are far higher in rural than the urban centers.
I think Hydro one should be made to better manage their spending. Work on tight budget lines and rid themselves of selfish lazy employees who drag the company down. Hydro one should be mandated for a complete reorganization. Well paid staff should be realistically paid for well-deserved hard work and dedication. Hydro One should be given a dea

My delivery rate is more than the amount of actual hydro I use. Does this even make sense? I am so tired of hearing all these lame brain excuses why this is from Hydro One and our premier Orville Redenbacher. Let's be honest we pay so much because of the decades of mis management, constant cost over runs, cancelled projects and ridiculous salaries to the overpaid Hydro One Employees on the sunshine list. Sunny for them, cloudy and stormy for the rest of us. With this type of thinking, I should quit my job and call up old Orville and demand she pay me a ridiculous salary to stay home because of my stupidity. At last, I will be on the sunshine list, I can then sit home watch game shows all day and dream up lame brain excuses why I should get all this money! Wake up Orville and stop sniffing the caramel pop corn! Here a novel thought Orville, do your job and work for the people of Ontario and really listen to them.

I don't believe a word of it. Wynne caused the problem & devastation. Continues as we speak to sign new contracts for energy we don't need. The damage is done & she wants to appear to be a hero? As the radio says, she claims is giving the citizen a break, and pass it on to the next generation to pay for her "so called mistake" . Don't feel sorry if the people vote for the Liberals in the election in June 2018. Kick her to the curb. She has ruined lives for so many people.

Summer stated that she made a mistake with regards to hydro rates. She made the mistake but the people of Ontario are paying for it. She should step down and lose her pension.

I recently moved from Saskatchewan and my hydro bill in a similarly sized house was $170 vs the 370 in Kenora. Welcome to On. How does a province of 1,000,000 do this compared to the largest province of Canada. Shame on you Ontario, you should be embarrassed. Are the rates the same in Southern On? Why is the delivery charge almost half of my bill? What gives? Just feels like being taken advantage of. If the politicians had to pay 20 to 30% of their income to their hydro, then changes will happen

It is not enough the Premier Wynne has "admitted that she made mistakes" - it's time for tangible financial solutions for the residents of Ontario.

I was injured at work in 2015, and still off. My hydro bill jumped by a stunning 900, with no explanation of its origin. I had no way to pay it, and without notice, Hydro One attended at my house, and disconnected. I am still without. Hydro One needs to remove the delivery charge, and be accountable to us all.

ENOUGH!!! My bill this month is criminal! $967.54 Delivery charges of $281.46. HST $113.68. Trippled in 3 years. Why the increase? I bought the house from a family of five, and I'm sole resident. Don't use oven. One load of laundry a week. Everything done on off peak hours. Shameful! This is WRONG!

Out of control electricity costs are too much for some small business. Campgrounds, motels. Also seniors are on fixed income can't afford the extra fees. Regulatory Charges, Global Fees and Debt Reduction, why? Ontarian's are paying mightily for government mismanagement over the years. Why is natural gas so cheap? Government didn't run gas companies. Gross Negligence.
