Please consider a hybrid plan for the safety if the students, teachers, staff and community.

My daughter has been at a summer camp program all summer with no issues following the same Safety guidelines and plans that the school put in place. Basically keeping the same group together and there was not one issue or outbreak. I’m fine with options but allow all three models for those that need full time in school and feel comfortable in doing so with the safety measures the school put in place. If you don’t feel comfortable so the virtual option. I for one don’t have care for my child if she isn’t in school and neither of us can leave our jobs or not work which would just cause more stress. I understand the safety but allow people to make their own choices with what they feel comfortable and what works for them. We need to be leaders and not followers. My child wants to go to school and has no problem with the modifications as long as she can be in school. It’s more the parents with issues than the actual children who would prefer to be in school even if that means wearing a mask. The stress of this constant change is causing more harm than good to these parents and kids. Allow all three options and with the reduced capacity full time in school for elementary is not an issue to follow the guidelines. Elementary kids can’t be left alone all day with guidance.

For the safety of the children, the teachers and their families, please reconsider your decision to hold full time face to face classes. I believe hybrid would be the way to go back, giving the administration time to assess how they can follow the CDC guidelines and what it will look like.

Those choosing virtual academy are already reducing classroom sizes and foot traffic. It would be nice if hybrid could be a choice, not the general rule. Take a look at what Shipley is doing. It’s a great plan. One that can be implemented at any school. This is the model we should be after, not making hybrid mandatory.

The need to be back in classroom is very clear but the idea of social distancing and masks usage in a school setting is practically impossible. There is no room to create proper distances for students and staff. Masks are going to limit instruction and understanding along with creating a whole host of challenges on a daily basis.

When the risk involves the death of a student or teacher, the decision is easy. Keep students safe at home until cases are under control. .

I am a CV employee.
This pandemic has been stressful for many in our community (parents, students and teachers). Let's not add to that stress. Otherwise, no one is productive or learning. We need to ease back into this new and different realm of "COVID schooling."
