It is things like the posts that add to the unique tapestry of our High Street that draws people in and helps it to thrive.

Why do you want to wipe out our history - sure the old lamps are better built anyway.

The proposed removal of these classic 1930's Fluted Swan Neck cast iron lampposts & the plan to replace these permanent structures with the tacky modern versions that only offer a very limited lifespan of less than 20 years would be an act of architectural vandalism. The ambiance of this charming old Sussex high street would be totally ruined for ever by this intrusive urban invasion of modern, function & very ugly street furniture that is poorly designed and onlt fit for purpose

It is small features like these lamp posts which give character to our village. Why waste money on cheap and inferior replicas.

The real issue is, why would we even think about replacing them, they add to the history of the community where we live and are certainly perfectly good at providing street light.

I strongly support keeping them and refurbishing them, they are and give character to the village and should continue for many years to come.

Don't remove the lamp posts, they add to the quaintness of the high street.
