Appears developers submission is seriously flawed

Planning is 100% devolved so this energy infrastructure does not HAVE to be forced on local communities against their will - please refuse this application and save our way of life!

I wish to register my agreement with this objection General Concerns The developer's updated submission fails to address significant issues raised previously. Central to the objection is that the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) used an incorrect project description, affecting the accuracy and validity of the entire impact assessment. Numerous errors across the EIA raise serious concerns about the quality assurance processes used. Although the project description was revised, only landscape and visual aspects were reassessed, leaving other critical areas such as noise, ecology, and other environmental impacts unexplored. For example, removing enclosures may affect noise levels, but no re-evaluation of this has been presented. This neglect violates standard environmental management practices and wastes public resources. Public Consultation Issues The public was never presented with an accurate visual representation of the project due to errors in the initial submission. SSEN’s own consultation reports reveal a consistent decline in public trust. Moreover, notices about reopened consultations were only published in obscure outlets like the *Mearns Leader* and *The Edinburgh Gazette*, limiting public awareness. Planning Statement Update The revised planning statement includes minor updates about site equipment and building enclosures but fails to correct major errors from the original document, such as repeated references to the wrong local authority (Angus Council). It also reflects a potential for unregulated expansion, aligning with concerns about a “salami slicing” approach, where larger developments are broken into smaller parts to avoid scrutiny. Noise Impact and Technical Flaws The developer submitted a technical note in response to noise objections, but it fails to resolve key issues: * **Unauthorized Monitoring**: Noise monitoring was claimed at two specific properties, yet owners deny any such activity. This will be devastating to the environment and landscape if allowed to go ahead.

Absolutely object to these MONSTER PYLONS

This is the wrong technology in the wrong place.

Stop ruining our countryside!

Do not want it in Scotland

Why are we ruining the Scottish countryside for money? It's not to benefit the people but the companies, as per usual the people who pay tax have no say in anything!

This application has been put in although the data used does not seem to be accurate or in some cases even seem to have been done to the required standard, it should therefore be passed back to the applicant and not looked at till the data is accurate and meets the required standards

SSEN are shamelessly salami slicing their applications / plans to seriously damage the environment, ecology and biodiversity of the rural Highlands and Aberdeenshire for a massive power line and pylons to transmit power to England & Europe. This should be offshore with their other lines. The rural communities of the Highlands and Aberdeenshire must have their voices heard and not be continually treated as acceptable collateral damage. Not green, not helping the environment, not helping the blind rush to Net Zero. Energy generation should be appropriate, proportional and nearer the end user. These are all the wrong developments in the wrong places. Please save the rural North and listen to the people locally who really care.

I object to SSEN plans in this development

I object for all the reasons listed above in this petition.

Environmentally and visually devastating to an area of beautiful Scottish countryside. Proposition totally unsuitable for this location on many levels. Alternative sightings must be looked at.

A very poor application failing to use correct data, resulting in poor assumptions. Public concerns are not being considered, let alone addressed.

To whom it may concern, I strongly object to the proposed Hurlie substation (APP/2024/1951). This is nothing but the first step toward covering our countryside with massive pylons. The impact on the landscape, wildlife, and local communities would be devastating. We are tired of being ignored. There has been little to no real consultation, and this project is being pushed through in pieces to hide its true scale. This is not acceptable. Say no to the substation — and no to the pylons.
