I’m one year living here now, and a double digit tax increase, I’ve never experienced before, in York Region or Toronto. That is crazy high !

Tax increase is ridiculous. So many people who work for Town of Huntsville are on sunshine list . They always give themselves a nice raise at the expense of rate payers. Lots of people are set incomes and cannot afford those foolish expenditures set by people in office who should be working to help the ones who elected them.

We are already taxed to death in this country/province we the people say no more. We don't need a tax increase so you can give yourselves more bonuses ...enough is enough.

It is absolutely absurd that the town council does not care how many people showed up at town hall to speak against the tax increase. And yet they turn a deaf ear to this. They obviously had their own agenda. They were voted in to represent the people, why are they not listening. As we are hit with more taxes Canadian’s are being again forced to live on less. Hello is there anyone out there listening. Wake up and use your common sense.

A lot of people are already homeless or on the verge of losing their homes, and just scraping by because of inflation. Yet, the people elected to office seem to think that the proverbial well will never run dry! ... we will just give ourselves a raise to off-set inflation and the rest of the citizens of Huntsville can pay for it! Your supposed to have our back, Not put a knife in it! ... sickening to say the least! Making people poor, makes people desperate and defeated with nothing to loose. Crime will only increase, which will effect so many things; insurance, policing, food costs etc. ... then they will say we need to collect even more tax money! It’s a vicious cycle that can only be slowed down by thinking of ways to cut unnecessary expenses. ... how about starting with re-thinking wage increases for yourselves? I heard that town council gave themselves a 17% hike in salaries? Is this the reason for 10.6% property tax increase?
