AN OPEN LETTER TO ANGELA HUNT:
We the undersigned are unalterably OPPOSED to any increase in the tax rate for Dallas property owners. We are in the midst of one of the WORST RECESSIONS in history and a tax increase will only deepen our economic woes.
Most of us were unable to take time off from work to attend the City Council meetings when this issue was discussed. But that doesn’t mean we are indifferent to this issue. We are VERY concerned.
Some of us are barely making ends meet. Our mortgages are close to, or are upside down. We have been or are currently out of work. A tax increase MAKES NO SENSE.
A tax increase will not help Dallas return to prosperity. Indeed it will only serve to prolong the recession afflicting the local economy, just as these policies have prolonged the recession at the national level.
MAKING THE SAME MISTAKES LOCALLY AS HAVE BEEN MADE NATIONALLY WILL NOT WORK ANY BETTER LOCALLY THAN THEY HAVE NATIONALLY.
Any Council Member advocating tax increases in such an environment must be profoundly disconnected from the plight of the Dallas taxpayer.
PLEASE VOTE AGAINST additional tax burdens on Dallas residents!

DALLAS NEEDS TO STOP SPENDING OUR MONEY. WE ARE BROKE!
Seriously? My property taxes are already way too high. I cant afford any more increases right now.
Leave us alone already. We are tapped out.
Enough is enough. People are struggling to pay their mortgages and the city wants to take more? Terrible timing.
My family has been struggling for years now and this is the last thing we need. Find the money somewhere else.

Total incompetence. They have no idea how hard it is for normal people to keep their heads above water lately.
