WE THE UNDERSIGNED WOULD LIKE TO BRING YOUR ATTENTION TO THE FOLLOWING PROBLEM, WITH RECOMMENDATION(S):
We, the undersigned, are in support of "The Human Bell Request," which states that the sound of the alert for door ajar is excessively loud and harmful for riders.
We, San Francisco commuters who regularly ride J, K, L, M, N & T Light Rail, understand the need for the alarm and the importance of this alert.
We request that the current high pitched, ear-splitting alarm be replaced by a more humane bell.
Citizens of San Francisco
I have been hearing from dozens of riders who experience actual pain during their daily commute because of these screeching alarms. Send an email to the MUNI customer service portal today to report your specific experience with the noise levels. We need to keep piling on the pressure until they provide a public response to our demand.

The momentum behind this request proves that the deafening alert noise on these rail lines is a shared daily stressor for all of us. Post this link on Facebook to reach commuters who still suffer through these alarms. Email your representative today to demand that MUNI prioritizes rider comfort over this jarring sound.
