In 1981 I had two men from the human society come to my door with a "search warrant" They took my Afghan because supposedly he had bit the next door neighbor. The fact was the neighbors dog came into my enclosed back yard and attacked my dog. When he went in to break them up, my dog scratched him. He admitted to be just scratched. They lied about the search warrant and they lied to the head of human society. They said I threw rocks at their truck and yelled obscenities. I do not curse. In fact I just learned to say Hell. They lie and lie.

A few years ago I tried to adopt a Boxer and got so many stories as to why I could not have the dog. I had adopted 4 dogs from them, but no more.

There needs to be a change at the HSWC immediately for the sake of all of the animals at the shelter!

I did community service for the HSWC around 10 years ago and the conditions were horrific then. The cats were kept in a run down old house that reeked of ammonia. There were several that were injured. There was an old trailer where the kittens and severely injured animals were kept and there was no AC in either the trailer or the cat house and it was over 100 every day. One of the buildings had a very large hole and the ceiling was caving in and moldy. There were several dogs that were injured from being turned out together and fighting. The dogs did not have constant access to water. I have been told it hasn't changed for the better since. These animals would be better on the street.
