Annually, 25 million people are trafficked worldwide. Over 1000 reported cases occur in Canada! This devastating modern slavery happens daily in our communities and is never adequately punished. The penalty in Canada is a mere 3 years. It is not enough to penalize these traffickers for their wrongdoings. It is not enough to deter them and ensure it is known that we Canadians will not stand for this injustice!
