Hurricane Harvey has caused unimaginable devastation in America's 4th largest city. The infrastructure, health and social needs of this vibrant community will be immense over the months and years as Texans recover from this historic event.
With that said, some of us are starting the coordinating work for any potential relief effort from the HSS family. If you are willing to be involved in the discussion, please sign this petition.
To be clear, the relief effort at present in Houston is focused on the most vulnerable populations with the most acute needs. There is no clear "ask" at this point as coordination on the ground has not even begun. Nevertheless, the needs will be huge and protracted.
If you prefer to jump in right away, you may text "Harvey" to 90999 to make a donation to the Red Cross or donate to the Houston Food Bank.

Given that my brother lived in Houston for 5 years, my oldest nephew was born at Texas Children's in Houston, and one of my best friends currently lives in Houston and is stuck in his 3rd floor apartment since the flooding in his building has reached the 2nd floor, I'm in.
Horrified by the devastation in Texas. Thank you for your leadership.
