Every little bit counts, What I am trying to do is make the roads a much safer place at night by getting the HSR to agree to let the buses run until last call. No, the reason isn't so we can stay out later, the reason is that I think there would be a lot less drunk drivers if we pushed the bus schedules back a bit. There are a lot of concerns that people are having such as ''isn't it risking the peoples safety on the bus by having drunk passengers?'' no, I personally think it's a lot more unsafe during the time of 1am because people can still be getting off work, etc. By the time it's 3am or so on, there will be less people getting off work or running errands. One person even told me all anyone is going to say to me is ''people can just cab'' you may think so but not everyone would spend 40 bucks just to get home in a cab. Sadly, I know a ton of people that would rather get in the car, risk their life and someone else' life. Last but not least. Somebody brought to my attention that the workers of HSR will most definitely ask for more money. That's probably true so I went around asking and everyone is fine with paying a bit more taxes to keep the drunk drivers off the road, if needed. I am doing this online petition first, mostly just to see how many signatures I could get. You can most likely catch me downtown in front of Jackson Square getting signatures as well. I probably won't start until after I go to the HSR Meet May 28th. I hope you all see this as an important cause. You could be saving someones life, Thank You.
