The U.S. is the only country that will have to use ICD-10 for billing & payment purposes. This will have a grave impact on medical practices in the US and orthopedics in particular (many of the new/additional codes areal with musculoskeletal conditions or injuries).

A five-fold increase in codes will only add to my daily workload and take more time away from patient care. The rest of the world does not use the number of ICD-10 codes this implementation is requiring. So don't be fooled by the proponents saying we need to adopt it since the rest of the world uses ICD-10.

ICD-10 implementation is a very laborious, time-consuming, and expensive task. It will be even more difficult to recover the costs from shrinking reimbursements that do not even cover the costs of providing health care today. Instead of taking care of patients, the unnecessary burden of increased clerical and administrative duties is now being been shifted to doctors. Doctors are scribes, coders, and billers now, not physicians that take care of people, The whole point of going to medical school and residency to learn and refine the practice of medicine and surgery which needs to be continually practiced to maintain that high level of expertise, is now becoming secondary to administrative tasks. Patients do not appreciate nor want doctors that must be more attentive to computers and documentation than to the medical and surgical problems they are suffering from. Increasing bureaucracy is already interfering with patient care, and will only make it far more difficult.

Four times the paperwork only leads to less time taking care of patients.

The ICD 10 will make it more difficult for the physicians and the billers. It will increase our overhead tremendously and will decrease the amount of patients seen daily .

The claims that ICD10 will improve patient care are ridiculous . The only thing it will do will be to make it more difficult for physicians and billers to code and increase cost during implementation. Also of note is that the proposed transition date of October 1st, the start of the winter months, is when most people are sick and most practices are most busy.

Please oppose ICD 10 Implementation which is projected to increase a doctors documentation be FOUR FOLD!!!!! Please, please, please help us. Dr Alan carpenter in El Paso TX.

Fix emr first

ICDA 10 will add to the burden crushing physicians and interfere rather than facilitate patient care. The road to hell is paved with good intentions and ICDA 10 is sending us there.

I would like to add that i persnally i wolud be forced as a first step to reduced the number of patients in a daily bases as second i will close my medicaid panel and third stop taking medicaid pts in the near future because in addition to ICD 10 the medicaid adjustmeant was deny and decreaced mu income I have my trust i you that this nonsense will be stop Thanks
