Dear Representative Davis: Thank you for Co-Sponsoring Our Pension Legislation. We, the undersigned Delta Air Lines employees based in Cincinnati, sincerely appreciate your support. You have publicly and actively supported H.R. 2106, the Employee Pension Preservation and Taxpayer Protection Act of 2005. It is obvious with your support that you understand that the pension benefits we have earned are very important to us, and we appreciate your help to make sure they are preserved. We want you to know that as our elected voice in Washington, we appreciate that you have heard your constituents and understand the issues that affect us. The bill you are supporting on our behalf would provide relief by spreading out pension contributions over 25 year, allowing airlines to live up to the obligations made to us, their employees. It also provides Delta the ability to continue to fund new benefits in the year they accrue. Delta needs this flexibility so that we can continue our efforts to transform into a viable airline that can compete long-term in a very competitive and changing industry.
