We the undersigned would like to petition the BC Government in their decision to only offer the HPV Vaccine to school aged girls, as they go through grades 6 and 9. We understand that this vaccination is possibly the only one known to prevent Cervical Cancer. Nationwide, this disease kills more than 400 women annually and we would like to know why young adults in grades 10 through 12 are being left behind and discriminated against in this vaccination process. We believe the Moms and Dads of this Province would be OK with the added Tax costs knowing it might very well save their daughters life. At over $500.00, thousands of families with young girls cannot afford this vaccine. Surely the added costs to the Province for the vaccine now, will be offset by saving the health care system having to treat the more than 14,000 cases of Cervical Cancer per year. We kindly request that the BC Government re-exam their decision in not offering this Vaccine to high school girls in grades 10 through 12.
