I chose Howard University not only for the academics, but for the culture. The traditions should stay traditions. All work and no play isn't good for anyone.

Howard University lives because of student participation. By not allowing the incoming freshman a chance to be involved with student life it would have negative affects on them even though the intent was to better them. Please do not strip them of their right to experience all that Howard University has to offer.
We were accepted to the university because of our involvement and being well rounded. So why not give the incoming class a chance to prove that they can excel academically while being involved in organizations?

Howard's student life is all I ever hear about when I ask alumni about their time there. I wanted to experience the same HU they had and by taking these organizations away you're taking away memorial and possibly life changing experiences.

These events and organizations are traditions at Howard university and are reasons why students picked our school. It's is a huge disservice for them not to experience these things. Howard administration shouldn't try to micromanage student programs and organizations.

I'm a proud Howard University Graduate- Class of 1991. I belonged to The Campus Pals, Gentlmen Of Drew Social Club, The Hilltop, and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Beta Chapter. I'd like to see the future generations of Bison Alum join some of the same organizations that I was involved in. They enriched my college experience. And The Campus Pals was crucial to helping me and other students form an eternal bond with Howard University. Thank You!

As a senior at Howard who can easily speak to how essential joining clubs my freshman year was to the impact that I was able to make on campus and beyond, I stand behind this petition 100%.

As an incoming freshman this is outrageous. The college experience is so vital to my growing and blossom into a wonderful woman in todays society. You might think that "parties" and such are distractions but little do people realize, that it encourages and sparks interest into the world of networking. You meet so many vital people due to being in the right place at the right time. Please support student life.

I absolutely agree with this. The culture and experience of going to an HBCU is being revoked from us.

I'm an incoming freshman who turned down scholarships at other schools to attend HU specifically for the culture of Howard. If everything is suspended, not only will I be sad, but I will also transfer.
