We call on the Department for Transport and Network Rail to fund access to the Hove Railway Station Footbridge for all users, especially the disabled, elderly and those with other mobility issues, as required under the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 and Equal Opportunities Act 2010.
This is also the requirement under Network Rail's step-freeAccess for Allprogramme: "to improve step-free accessibility for disabled people or those with reduced mobility, but also people with children, heavy luggage or shopping, and some more elderly people to key train stations."

I am currently gathering documented accounts on how the lack of lift access impacts daily travel at Hove Station. These stories are essential for the next round of correspondence with Network Rail.

i am 65yrs of age and cannot carry my suitcase across the bridge and difficulty getting a taxi to the other side where my daughter lives. its a nightmare. my daughter has newborn twins now so double nightmare
It's impossible to get to station from Hove Park Villas if not able-bodied or sighted.
It would be even more convenient if you designed it to access the platform from the bridge by adding ticket barriers/ticket machines etc
the sooner the better
Not essential but the less able are disadvantaged by having to go all round the houses.
I too have difficulties when caring for grandchildren. A lift and general upgrade would be amazing!
I totally support this access petition for the footbridge. As well as the importance of this access for disabled, the bridge is in great need of refurbishment and redecoration.

I have to walk so far out of my way around the bus station as I can't access the bridge with my double buggy, it would be such a great idea to improve access
