Better code enforcement and rental inspection practices will lead to higher overall neighborhood/home values. This will increase property tax revenue over time.

Yes, please invest in these positions, which will generate revenue. I would much rather see the FY 2015-16 budget to pay for these positions instead of a BWL Inspector General!

Would really like extra attention to vacant houses with absent landlords. Thanks for taking time to get this petition going.

Having been the victim of many landlord's loose interpretation of 'livable conditions', this petition hits home with me.

We all pay the price for the neglect of irresponsible landlords and their tenants.

I'm from Lansing, and am now a real estate broker and property manager in Chicago, and the city of Chicago is very strict on code enforcement, and because of that we have, for the most part, a quality and safe rental stock. This could do WONDERS for Lansing, because I've been in some dumpy rentals there that would be condemned in a minute here!

We need more Code officers to keep our neighborhoods up, especially our more fragile neighborhoods like mine. : )

code compliance is one of very few departments that has the ability to be revenue neutral.

More officers could put good landlords on an even keel with the slumlords and maybe even put a few bad ones out of business.

We need more enforcement along with oversight and accountability for the entire department.

yes this is very necessary for the neighborhoods of Lansing If we can spend all of the money I'm text abatement for downtown we can certainly do this for the neighborhoods!

We need further regulation on rental properties, the ones next to my house are bringing property values down.
