This petition is for everyone who thinks that it is not right for just anyone to walk into Council offices and claim housing benefits falsely taking money from hard working tax payers and landlords. I am the victim of a fraudulent tenant. In Jan 2011 i discovered that my Tenant had not paid a penny in rent to me since August 2010. This is because my tenant made up his own tenancy agreement stating that his company, Cambridge Russian institute ltd, were the landlords. He took the agreement into the local council offices to claim housing benefits and got it! This means that the government housing benefits he has been receiving are being paid to him and not the landlord, me.He is being paid to live in my property!  I have since discovered that this man had done the same thing twice before. 1st conviction was in 2003 for non payment of rent. He racked up a debt of £5769.95. Exeter County Court, Claim no: ex301989. Not paid a penny 2nd conviction was in 2008 for non payment of rent whilst on benefits. He racked up another debt of £7000. Northampton County court, Claim no: 8qz0107. Not a penny paid. 3rd is my property, at present i am trying to get him convicted but it is proving very difficult getting him evicted and i am suffering serious finical difficulties and stress. I have contacted the Housing benefits office and they say that they cannot do anything until he is convicted and will continue to pay him the money. This man has done this twice before, there must be hundreds or even thousands of people doing this everyday and it must be stopped. If you are a landlord, law abiding tax payer, rental tenant, or if this story just makes you angry that people like this are getting away with doing this then please sign my petition to get the way housing benefits are paid to the tenant  changed. Many thanks
