The Class of 2010 gift to Houghton College will be the creation of an outdoor classroom space. We are aiming to raise these funds in three ways 1) $3,000 from the Senior Class Budget 2) $2,000 raised from the class through donations over the next four years. 3) $10,000 from the Student Project Fund. Visual description: From a bird’s eye view this class space would be a circle with a 24 foot diameter comprised of two half circle benches and two 4 foot gaps (entrances), with stones laid down in the center providing a stone floor with a drain in the middle of this stone floor. The total cost of the project will be between $10,000 - $15,000 depending on how much is raised and if we are able to achieve Student Project Fund (SPF) support. By signing this petition you are requesting that that SPF Committee and Student Senate approve the allocation of up to $10,000 to cover the costs of this project.
