A true citizen knows his/her rights. Do you know yours? Knowing your rights gives you power and the ability to live life the way you want it. America was built on the principle of freedom -- do not take it for granted! Our government was built by us, for us. When complaining about the American government, remember this: BY US, FOR US. Although many believe otherwise, the US government was built to make our lives better. To protect its citizens, to guard our rights, and to provide us with a decent lifestyle. As proof, look at the issues among communities in third world countries, and then look at the problems in our towns and cities. But it gets better. Not only do we get to experience our rights daily, we have full access to them. Though the US government may be corrupt and dishonest, there is one single thing that remains untouched. The US Constitution, designed and established by our Founding Fathers, is truly the supreme law. Through it's flexibility and true austerity, this document stands strong as our country's rightful contract. It has adjusted to the times and was founded on this country's most valued principles: revolution, compromise, and the pursuit for a better life. So with that said, why does it seem to carry such little weight? Why don't we all have US Constitution's in our house? Why isn't it read in schools? Why do so little Americans know it's actual content? Every hotel in America should have a copy of the US Constitution in it. Every hotel room has a Bible in the nightstand drawer. Beside it, there should be the US Constitution booklet. As American citizens, we have this privilege.
