I agree that we should have access to the previous years version if we renew. I'm not a big fan of the new travel log or PC log, and wish we still had a check log (though that one isn't as big a deal). Also, $100 every year to renew is not ideal.

The 2017 PC Log has changed that is not convenient for Commercial Production. By not seeing the totals for each PC Envelope and now having to highlight the totals for each envelope to get the final total, takes precious time we rarely have. There are also instances that generating a PDF of the Budget does not keep each page on to 1 page, but splits them into 2 pages. Re-installing office is not working.
Thanks for a great program and look forward to a more Commercial Production friendly version.

I love Hot Budget and what it's done for the production world. I love the way you've taken big swings at a stodgy industry - one that doesn't like change. I really hope this petition doesn't discourage future innovation. However, most people need time to transition into changes. Everyone didn't jump ship from point zero to HB v1 immediately. That took some time and probably wouldn't have fully happened if it had the subscription model from the get go. While this petition is related mostly to functionality, the same principle applies. People need time to transition before a big change. We are a very vocal and active community. We love to talk about ways to improve our workflow with each other and we love it when others care enough about our job to help do the same. We don't have a lot of job specific tools as we are a niche industry so hot budget has been huge. Please talk to us! We want this to continue being a great product that so many of us rely on and we are here to help!

I agree with many of the comments made here. While I am a fan of Hot Budget, I do have many concerns about the way the new version was forced upon us and the changes that were made. We started a job at the end of 2016 and then were forced to upgrade when we got back up and running on the job. I also agree that the use should be prorated based on when you purchase the program. Freelancers have to spend their own money on this program as the companies we work for do not provide it to us. I much prefer the 2016 version and would gladly go back. To force someone to upgrade is bad practice. Even Apple doesn't do that. The PC log is the worst! The old one is much better for commercial PC purposes. I also don't like that they took out the cc and check logs. Our coordinators need that and even though they don't depend on Hot Budget as much as Supervisors, I like to help make their jobs a bit easier too. We all have so much to do and trying to figure out a new system mid job is extremely time consuming and frustrating. Please take into consideration the people using and paying for this program and allow us to choose the version that best works for us. Thank you

I just don't understand why we don't have the option like any other program not to upgrade but to continue using the version we have if it's working fine for our needs, and not be forced into newer versions with features that don't benefit us. We bought it, why are we then locked out of it and if we pay again, we still can't have it? All the other paid programs I have continue working until I upgrade or they charge a subscription fee and if I choose to upgrade to newer features, then I pay to upgrade. I've long thought HB was a valuable tool but I'm now struggling to find the benefit of continuing to use it given the current parameters..

in the middle of a 4 month job and now have to start over - the import feature is limited, does not carry over pc or overages -- and can't access any of the old versions of the budget workings -- this is total Malarky.

I love HB, but this is serious BS. I am in the middle of a job and my actual has now been completely effed. I really hope they reinstate 2016. This is severely screwing me as I am sure it is severely screwing some of you.

This update caused us to miss a bid deadline and as a result loose work for our company. It also ruined to jobs in progress taking hours of myself and my teams time. The PC log is also a mess

Not all of the new features are bad and I'm not against change or progress. But I think everyone agrees the PC Log needs to go back to the old version. Or at least be able to easily switch to the old version. Same with the Travel Log. The new Travel Log is super cumbersome.

Please allow us to chose if we want to up grade to the latest version or not. the other one was working just fine and didnt create additional time for imputing in the PC log as well as travel. Allowing the option to chose between the classic version and this one would give everyone the choice of both worlds.

Listen to your end user, give them the opportunity to help you create the best product is important and in this case good business, this is leaving such a negative taste in so many mouths that that the negative effect one would think would not be worth it.

Thank you HB for the program up to now.... it was a great tool that we all were satisfied to use and please hear us know and understand that this one is more time consuming to use. Time we really just dont have.... additional time that production company budget for us to have.
