The Board of Governors has determined NOT to host an IN-PERSON Christmasville this year and only host a virtual event. Virtual events are no where near the experience of a LIVE event. The event is months away and there is no reason to cancel the event! 2020 has already had a devastating toll on small businesses. A virtual event will not be nearly as successful as an in-person event. Most of these vendors rely on "spontaneous" buys which can only be accomplished in-person. Additionally, cancelling this live event will have a completely demoralizing effect on the people who live in the community. Children who look forward to it will be crushed. Do we really need to add more sadness to this year for a virus with a .4% death rate (max rate and continually going down)?
