Foundations are already being washed away from new houses being built on top of ponds at The Park in Longs. Time to start holding building inspectors accountable for these permits. Stop the building and sinkholes in development

Something NEEDS to be done even earlier with land clearing and removal of trees with no plan for restructuring for water

We need water management in Horry County!!

I have lived here my entire life and have never seen the frequency of areas in Horry County that are flooding. The development needs to stop until COE can figure something out.

We also seek an Internal Affairs and State Ethics investigations into the personal benefits, and failures to recuse for Conflicts of Interest, for those government personnel who stood to benefit; whether through the commission of real property sales, brokerages, or leases of the developed lands in question. The flood levels are rising. Flood Zones in Horry County cannot be accurately defined. Three years of record setting floods in the last 4 years is a clear sign, changes must be made. 1,000,000+ gallons of RAW, UNTREATED SEWAGE was dumped into our Waccamaw River following Hurricane Florence, where 70%+ of our drinking water is sourced, as well as 30,000+ acres of surrounding tidal Wildlife Refuge swamplands. Our local government has demonstrated time and again that they are unwilling to comply with current State and Federal Laws governing the roles and functions of local government. They are willfully, and negligently, approving over development that substantially manipulates our current and historical watersheds, disallowing them to function as natural water systems. The Horry County Planning and Zoning department as well as the current and past Horry County Council Members who actively voted to, or made documented actions to, approve the mass manipulation of our natural watershed should be held to account for their actions. I have lived here for 24 years now and this is the worst flooding i have seen, and the first for my house. I was told when i purchased this property that it was NOT in a a flood zone, but here I am STILL NOT back in my home.

My house never flooded before Florence. Now it can’t be lived in, can’t sell it and can’t afford to rebuild it. The US Army Corp of Engineers and Horry County needs to fix the problem of flooding from the IC so this doesn’t happen in another 2 years.

We must make sure that our natural resources are preserved in order to maintain livability and enjoyment for tourists. Constant, irresponsible building will only make our area unlivable and lead to a mass exodus of people and a great loss to the economy. By making this area too crowded with additional building will lead to an ugly environment. We need to fix our current problems and quit being greedy for more.

We have been flooded twice, with fe ma insurance have to use money to rebuild, fear that it will happen again in the future. Something has to be done to stop this from happening .

The County has a duty of care to its citizens. Stand strong together and for one another.

Please help these poor people that have been flooded out multiple times and have lost everything. Why rebuild when this WILL HAPPEN AGAIN! something has got to be done. Prayers for all the people involved bless you all
